ICA Vancouver presents Introduction to Indian Music Class For Kids. Bring your kid and find out if your kid has a musical talent.Free Demo Class For the Kids (6-10 years) by Neeraja Aptikar.
This Free Demo class includes Indian classical notes, voice culture to sing in professional way. Kids are going to learn basics of Indian music and Sargam Geet. This workshop will be very useful to find out if your kid has musical talent. Music makes kids more grounded and creative.
Classical Indian music gives kids the confidence and strength to develop good self esteem. Kids who learns Indian music they learn to know how to balance emotions effectively.

About Neeraja Aptikar:
Neeraja is a gifted Hindustani Classical Indian vocalist. Her sweet and masterful voice has delighted and inspired listeners throughout India and Canada. Born and raised in a family of Sanskrit scholars, Neeraja learned North Indian classical and semi-classical music under the able guidance of Pandit Shivajirao Bharati of Kirana Gharana and Dr. Vikas Kashalkar at the HOD University in Pune, India. Her musical training includes semi-classical music such as dadra, thumri, hori, kajri and chaiti from Pune based well-known vocalist Professor Jayashree Ranade. She also sings marathi natya sangeet, abhanga and some bhavgeet. She is fluent in singing marathi, hindi, sanskrit, rajastani, bengali and punjabi urdu and kannad. She has received several awards for classical, semi-classical and light music. Her song “Khub teri pagadi” for Movie Sindoor is nominated for Leo awards 2010. She has collaborated with Canadian musicians and more than 10 albums published.Students of Classical Indian music in Vancouver are blessed to have Neeraja’s skilled and expert guidance in this rare and beautiful musical art form. Neeraja offers private and semi-private instruction in Classical Indian music to all levels of musical ability and experience of the Sanskrit language. Other than Music Neeraja is holding Masters degree in Microbiology, She has worked in hospital as a Microbiologist and taught Microbiology in Medical Institute for 8 yrs. Neeraja is also a very successful life skills counselor educated in Vancouver. She is a regular writer for Sakal news paper in Maharashtra.
